ABCD COLLABORATIVE

ASSET BASED COMMUNITY DESIGN COLLABORATIVE

Welcome to ABCD Collaborative

Asset Based Community Design Collaborative (ABCD Collaborative) conducts design and research for community architecture and design. The name ABCD comes from asset-based community development which is a methodology developed by John L. McKnight and John P. Kretzmann for the sustainable development of communities based on their strengths and potentials. ABCD Collaborative wishes to extend and apply the method for community design, acting as an agency to identify, connect and leverage community material and human capability to activate social change especially for marginalized and under-resourced community. The goal of the design and research is for social cohesion, capacity building, empowerment and reinforce local culture value through local material innovation and people’s participation. Except working on community projects, ABCD Collaborative is also an open platform that welcomes designers and NGOs to collaborate together.
